Even marmosets get branding right
I read all sorts of random stuff online, and while a lot of it goes in one eye and out the other, this one stopped me in my tracks - and I have to share it!
Did you know marmosets call each other by name?
Yep, these tiny wee monkeys actually name their pals and use those names to keep in touch. Researchers found that when marmosets are separated by a barrier, they don’t just make random “marmosetty” noises; they use unique vocalisations for specific individuals.
Kind of like saying, “Oi, Dave, where are you?” rather than just shouting into the void. It keeps their group connected, even when they can’t see each other. Parrots, dolphins, and even elephants do it, too!
Why should that blow your mind? Because…
Recognition is everything
A name matters. It makes you stand out. It makes you recognisable. Even to some animals. Yet for us humans, especially in business, a name alone isn’t enough. A logo isn't enough.
Think of the businesses you follow online. You don’t just remember their names, do you? You remember their faces, their style, their vibe, and the feeling they give you.
Your name introduces you, but your photos make you unforgettable
When your brand photography is spot-on, people don’t see your name pop up and think, “Wait, who’s that again?” They recognise you immediately, remember you, and trust you—meaning they’re far more likely to book you or buy from you.
That’s why brand photography isn’t just about “nice pictures.” It’s about making you impossible to forget.
If a tiny monkey in the rainforest gets it, so should we
Marmosets clearly know recognition is everything. The most successful businesses do, too. So if you’re still hiding behind stock images, dodgy DIY selfies, or (shudder) avoiding showing up altogether, let’s fix that.
Don’t change who you are - show people who you are
With the right images, you’ll stand out instantly. Whether someone sees your name in their inbox or your face on LinkedIn, they’ll know it’s you.
See my services page to find out how brand photography can help you get recognised, remembered, and booked.
After all, if even a wee marmoset understands the power of recognition, you can absolutely harness it for your business.
