If you’re looking for a headshot photographer in Edinburgh, I offer relaxed one-hour sessions with clear guidance throughout.
Sometimes, you don’t need photographs showing every part of your business. You simply need a polished, professional portrait for LinkedIn, your website, a speaker profile, press coverage, or other places where people want to put a face to your name.
Your session gives us up to one hour to create a selection of natural headshots at one location in Edinburgh or elsewhere in Scotland. I’ll guide you throughout, so you won’t need to know how to pose or worry about what you’re supposed to be doing.
You’ll choose your favourite three photographs from a private gallery, giving you a small but useful collection that helps you look professional and approachable wherever your work appears.
Your headshot often forms someone's first impression before you ever meet. The aim is a photograph that makes you look current, capable and approachable, so you feel confident using it wherever your work takes you.
What could your headshots include?
During your session, we’ll create a range of expressions and compositions so you have different photographs to choose from.
Depending on what you need and what suits the location, your final three might include:
- A closer head-and-shoulders portrait for LinkedIn and online profiles
- A looser portrait with more of the setting included
- A relaxed alternative for your website, speaker biography, press, or marketing
You’ll choose your favourite three from a private selection gallery, so you’re not committed to deciding in advance exactly what each photograph should look like. If you would like more than three once you see the gallery, additional photographs are £25 each.

Headshots for small teams and businesses
If you need professional headshots for a small team, I can come to your office or workplace and photograph whoever you need, keeping the process straightforward and disruption to the working day to a minimum.
You might be starting from scratch and need a consistent set of photographs for your team page. Or perhaps most of your team already have headshots, but new people have joined and their photographs need to fit naturally alongside the existing ones.
In that case, I can work from your current photography and match the background, lighting, composition, and overall style as closely as possible. The aim is that when the new photographs are added to your website, nobody looks as though they’ve wandered in from somewhere else!
Team headshot commissions are quoted individually, as the time and photography required will depend on the number of people and what you need from the finished images.
When headshots might not be the right answer

Headshots are a strong starting point, but it's important to know they're not always the most useful option.
If you need images that show how you work, what you offer, or the wider context of your business, a brand photography session may be a better fit. This is often the case if you are updating your website, creating regular content, or trying to communicate more than just who you are. A headshot is often the starting point, but for many independent professionals or service-based small businesses it isn’t enough on its own. Brand photography gives you a broader set of images that can support your marketing over time, rather than a small number of portraits used in isolation.
